2012 LAA Baseball and Softball Registration
Jan. 4, 2012

LAA Baseball is proud to have an active and thriving program for players 5 to 15 years of age. We offer an In-House Program that is sanctioned by Cal Ripken Baseball and starts the kids as young as five with a basic skill building T-ball league, on up through our 11 & 12 year old Majors Division. Also, LAA recently added Little League for our 13-15 year old players.

For those who want more baseball LAA has a very successful Travel program. Travel teams consist of players from the In-House Program who wish to gain more experience by competing against teams from other area programs. It is an LAA Baseball Program Rule that all children who participate in the Travel Program MUST ALSO PARTICIPATE IN THE IN-HOUSE PROGRAM!!

LAA's Babe Ruth Softball offers organized softball for children ages 6 to 18 in our In-House Program. LAA Softball is a Babe Ruth Chartered Program beginning in 2008. The Chartered boundaries for this program coincide with the Middletown Township and Newtown Lines. Therefore, all residents of Middletown Township and Newtown Township are eligible to participate for LAA.

TRYOUTS:
Following registration, teams will be selected after evaluations for ages 8 and up, (held in late March). This is done in an effort to make the teams as fair and even as possible. For safety and child self esteem, players ages 9-11 must possess the necessary skills and maturity to play at the Minor and Major League levels. As a result, some 9 year old boys will play in the Rookie Division, and some 11 year old boys will play at the Minors level. It is essential that ALL children attend the evaluations. You will be notified by telephone as to the specifics of your child(ren)’s evaluation(s). All children registered by January 31st will be placed on a team. AFTER JANUARY 31ST SPACE IS NOT GUARANTEED ON A TEAM.

TRAVEL TEAMS:
Suburban Travel League teams will be formed for boys, ages 8 through 15 based upon registrations. Separate tryouts will be held for these teams. Travel Teams require commitment. Per LAA Policy, Travel players must play on In-House teams, this will also make travel players eligible for post season Cal Ripken Tournament play.

Please indicate your intention to tryout for travel baseball/softball on the registration form, and you will be contacted regarding the tryout date. Travel Baseball/Softball requires an additional registration fee AFTER SELECTION.
